Deed Diary ("the app") is an Islamic lifestyle companion app for tracking good deeds, reading Quran, and practicing Arabic writing. This policy explains what data we collect and how we handle it.
The following data is stored locally on your device only. It is never sent to our servers, never shared with third parties, and is deleted when you uninstall the app.
As described in Section 4 below, we do use Firebase to collect limited, anonymous diagnostic and usage data — this is the only data that leaves your device.
The app requests approximate location permission to calculate accurate Islamic prayer times and Qibla direction for your area using a local algorithm — no location data is sent to any server. You may deny this permission and instead manually select your city from a bundled list (Section 1); prayer times and Qibla direction are then calculated from that selection.
The Qibla Finder also uses your device's compass/magnetometer sensor to show the live direction to the Ka'bah. This sensor reading is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted anywhere.
The app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to help us understand which features are used and to diagnose crashes or errors so we can fix them.
If you purchase Deed Diary Pro, the transaction is processed by Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS). We use RevenueCat to verify your subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and your purchase receipt to confirm Pro access. RevenueCat may also use your device's Advertising ID to verify purchase legitimacy and prevent subscription fraud. RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
We do not receive your payment details. We do not store your subscription status on any server — it is verified directly between your device and RevenueCat.
When you play verse audio, the audio is streamed from a third-party CDN. Your IP address may be visible to the CDN as part of the standard HTTP request. No personal data is sent.
The app can schedule local reminders on your device — for example, memorization (hifz) session reminders. These notifications are scheduled and triggered entirely on your device using your device's operating system. No reminder data is sent to or stored on any server.
Deed Diary is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
All app data is stored on your device. To delete all data, uninstall the app. You may also clear individual data types from within the app's Settings screen.
We may update this policy as new features are added. The updated date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
